BEFORE YOU HIRE ME

- Please contact me before you hire me or send me your files. I´m always interested in listening to your song before I mix it. Send me your rough mix (and or master) in advance, and give me some guidelines on how you want the sound to be. Maybe you have specific elements in the track you really like, and specific things you want me to improve. So give me your thoughts on what you like, and what you don´t like about the rough mix.

- Sometimes the best solution doesn´t fit the standard. Maybe the music sounds perfect, but the vocals needs some care. Maybe I can give some inputs to the arrangement etc.

- Feel free to contact me and we can work it out together!

PREPARING FILES FOR MIX

Bounce files in the same format as your session. Usually 44.1kHz 24bit, but no

  dithering or conversion.

- Name the files ( not audio 1, audio 2, etc. )

- Bounce tracks with stereo information in stereo and tracks with mono information

  in mono.

- Bounce instrument tracks processed if the processing is part of the sound.

I.g., distortion, bit crush, autotune, pitchshifting, heavy sidechain compression and

  filtering.

If in doubt you can deliver one file processed and one unprocessed.

- Keep filter automation

- Keep processing on sound effects such at booms, stabs and risers

- Vocal tracks must be tuned but dry and unprocessed unless the processing is crucial

to the sound. You can deliver one processed and one unprocessed.

- Comp your tracks so that the same instrument or vocal is not spread out on multiple

tracks such as; lead vocal verse 1, lead vocal verse 2 etc.

- All editing is done beforehand (crossfades, breaks, vocal cleanup etc.)

- If you have many background vocals you can bounce them together in stems.

( Unisone, harm1, harm2 etc.)

- Make sure nothing is clipping and leave 6 db headroom or more.

- Please organise the files in folders, ”Drums”, ”Bass”, ”keys”, ”Gtrs” and ”Vocals"...

- Provide the bpm of the track.

- Remember to check the bounced/exported files before sending them to mix, and make

sure nothing is missing and everything is playing correct and sounds the way you
